Awe–it’s comforting and uplifting to hear these quotes. Especially the one about success. Just finished 3rd place in the Chinese Speech competition. First place went to white guy who grew up in Taiwan and second went to a Cantonese girl who lived in Beijing for a year. All this is inspiring and yet frustrating. It’s easier to throw my hands up in the air and give and ten times harder to continue struggling to learn Chinese…
