Bill Gate leaving, Bonaparte prisoned

The lastest news says Bill is leaving in 2008. (The End of the Gates Era)

Well, the first idea in my mind is, maybe Bill finally learnt from Bonaparte’s failure, after he has learnt from Bonaparte’s success for such a long time.

I guess Bonaparte has been Gate’s life model, just like Alexander, Caesar and Hannibal have been the life model for Bonaparte, and like the childhood fascination for every man. Bill learnt so much from Bonaparte, his ambition, his tactics, even his temper. (Bill Gates vs. Napoleon)

But why do he choose to leave? It’s definitely deviating from Bonaparte, and what Gates haters think(they hate him for good reasons: see “Social aspects of the GNU Project”) Is it because of his wife? Or the charity?

They must have substantial influence on this decision. But I couldn’t help thinking, every reader of the story of Bonaparte, will wish he quit conquering after he reaches the summit, and lead a peaceful life with Josephine. If he kept his heart from being taken away by politics, time may treat him with a good heart.

It’s equally wise to judge that your time has come and that your time is gone.

So i think leaving is the second coolest thing Gates has done. What’s the coolest? Entering the software industry(or, creating it?) of course.
